The project will accurately identify the knowledge export opportunities for Danish offshore technology for 5 oil and gas markets: Norway, Greenland, Angola, Brazil and the Middle East.
One of the countries will be selected for planning of a joint knowledge and promotion of exports campaign in the country. After evaluation similar campaigns will be conducted in the other countries, making a total of 5 campaigns.
Through the project, it is aimed to establish a "Danish offshore oil and gas Knowledge ambassador" in each of the countries. The knowledge ambassador will proactively contribute to knowledge export and collecting experience.
During the past 20 years Danish offshore industry have gained unique expertise in a number of important areas, including oil and gas extraction from tight reservoirs. In recent years these competencies have been marketed and sold in selected markets abroad. One of the ways this have been achieved is through cooperation among export-oriented organizations in the Danish offshore industry.
Knowledge is highlighted repeatedly in the contracting international markets as the primary competitive factor. But exactly “what knowledge” and “how knowledge should be marketed and sold internationally”, is not clear.
The project's organizational focal point is the "Danish Offshore Internationalization Committee" consisting of the project partners: Offshore Centre Danmark, Danish Industries, the Danish Export Association, the Industrialization Fund for Developing Countries (IFU), The Trade Council (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) University of Southern Denmark and Aalborg University.
