Last week DONG Energy, Danbor and Blaaholm welcomed a bus full of "Studie 10" pupils from Bramming. They are students in their final year at school.
It is a well-known fact that in a few years' time there will be a shortage of skilled workers in Denmark. In an effort to promote career opportunities in the offshore industry, these pupils were given a guided tour of three interesting workplaces.
DONG Energy, Danbor and Blaaholm were excellent, highly motivated hosts. We wish to express our thanks to them for opening their doors. The pupils were enthusiastic about this inspiring trip. In their feedback, they gave top marks for having been given an opportunity to see what goes on "behind the scenes" – and how things are done in real life.
Educational Consultant Keld Jacobsen asked how we can make our industry even more attractive to this young target group. One of the responses he received was a suggestion that we make a series about Danish offshore, in line with the Danish TV series "Gutterne fra Kutterne", a docu-soap about a group of coastal fishermen. Come on then, who's up for TV fame? The titans of Tyra Field? The supermen on the supply vessels? The helicopter heroes? Other suggestions are more than welcome!
