The first ever Scale-Up for the offshore industry kicks off on February 1. 2017. Ten innovative companies are expected to participate.
There were 29 applicant companies from four continents: Three from Africa, two from Asia, two from South America and 22 from Europe. Of these last, fourteen are from Denmark. Applicants are currently under scrutiny. There are many innovative solutions to choose from, says Bent Würsching, Program Manager, Next Step Challenge:
"We have a broad range of projects. For example, there are innovative solutions for optimizing software in offshore wind and a new cooperation model for steel construction work. There are also new projects for e.g. safer lifting gear and scaffolding and deck designs made of composite materials," says Bent Würsching.
"There are some extremely interesting projects among them – and a succession of highly-qualified bids. We have applicants offering safety, technology, cost reduction, new methods and new products. Several of the applicants are well-established companies whose scalability is already proven by their development in recent years. There is indeed potential for growth," Bent Würsching emphasises.
