Offshoreenergy.dk’s Annual Meeting 2016 focused on promoting partnerships and innovative solutions to benefit the entire offshore industry.
On 1 September, the offshore industry gathered at Offshoreenergy.dk's Annual Meeting. Members of the offshore cluster voiced strong commitment and a willingness to cooperate more in the future.
In his opening statement, Offshoreenergy.dk’s Chairman Anders Eldrup called for the industry to reinvent itself to ensure the future of offshore. Delegates responded with a commitment to work together on new, innovative solutions. Speaker Bent Christensen, Senior Executive in Renewable Energy, Siemens Wind Power, encouraged attendees to foster a more open approach to sharing expertise and creating solutions that are relevant to everyone in the industry:
"In some cases, we would be more interested in establishing an industrial standard than a Siemens patent. We need a more open dialogue in areas that are in everyone's interest”, he said.
Cooperation and open dialogue were also the main points on the agenda of speaker Ole Hansen, Head of Operations at Maersk Oil:
"We need to innovate and think outside the box. By ‘we’, I mean all of us. We create synergies when we work together," he said.
Glenda Napier, CEO at Offshoreenergy.dk, responded:
"The will to cooperate expressed here is encouraging. We will support networks and facilitate a framework for knowledge sharing and collaboration on innovative solutions," she said.
The speakers included several offshore and industry experts as well as municipal and political representatives.
